Forest Hills is a naturally undulating parkland course set in the beautiful Forest of Dean with panoramic views over the old market town of Coleford to the Welsh hills beyond.

Forest Hills was originally designed in 1990 by Adrian Stiff, a well-respected course architect who was able to design a Par 68 course bringing all the natural land features into play. In 1998 further land was acquired and the internationally known designer Brian Grifiths was commissioned to create 5 new holes bringing the course up to a Par 72 and championship length of 6387 yards.

Part of this design included a new coarse fishing lake on the site of a former medieval lake, which had long since disappeared. The course is renowned for its outstandingly good drainage allowing play to continue 12 months of the year using permanent greens and tees. This is one of the only courses in Gloucestershire that can boast about its great draining abilities. This allows for a quality golf course to be played all year round.
